The Second Grade core subjects include Reading,
Phonics, Math, Spelling, English, and Handwriting. The basic
yearly goals of

READING and PHONICS

alphabetizing are taught.
ENGLISH
Sentences, Questions, Statements and
Commands
* use of capital letters and punctuation

* nouns – common, proper, pronouns

HANDWRITING
Maintenance of manuscript skills
and
introduction to cursive
handwriting are taught. The
