Title I work? The Federal
Government provides funding to states each
year for Title I. The State
Educational
Agencies (SEA) send the money to school
districts
based on the number of low-income families. The Local
School District (LEA) identifies eligible
schools and provides Title I resources. |

are identified through a variety of methods which include teacher
referrals,
class observations, scores from the Iowa Basics, reading inventories,
and
parent referrals. |

I teachers collaborate with the classroom teachers in determining the
current
needs of each student. The delivery of services depends on the skills
that
need to be targeted. Title I teachers may work with students
individually
or in small groups in the classrooms and/or in the Title I
classrooms. |
